Accessing InsideView on Salesforce App (Salesforce1)

InsideView for Sales is now available with the Salesforce1 App on iOS, Android, and other operating systems. This enables Salesforce users to view detailed insights about Leads, Accounts, Opportunities and Contacts when using their Salesforce1 App. This article outlines how to access InsideView in the Salesforce1 App on different operating systems. 

This article outlines how you can access InsideView on Salesforce1 app on the following two topics:

Accessing InsideView Mashup on iOS Devices

Accessing InsideView from your Salesforce1 App in iPhone and iPad is easy. InsideView enables you to seamlessly login to its mashup and the app based on your Salesforce1 login session. 

Step Description Details
1 Go to your Salesforce1 app In your Salesforce1 App, InsideView mashup appears as illustrated below.

Note: If you do not have InsideView Mobile installed, tapping here takes you to the Apple app store where you can download and install it. If you are installing the InsideView app, you will need to come back to Salesforce1 app and tap the InsideView mashup again.
2 Tap InsideView mashup from Salesforce1 The screen below displays company insights as it appears in the InsideView iOS app.

Note: To view detailed insights, you must have InsideView Mobile installed in your iOS device.

Here you can also search or browse through other companies or contacts. You can sync your meetings to view up-to-the-minute insights about companies and executives you are going to meet. You also get News Feed about the companies you are following or going to meet. Not just this, you will also be notified latest news about companies of your interest.

When you browse through Accounts, Leads, or Opportunities, InsideView displays the company information.

3 Multiple Company Results If there are multiple results, the InsideView mashup displays the following screen:

4 Resolve multiple matches Tap View Companies to go to the following screen:

 

5 Select Company to View Insights Select the appropriate company and tap View to see detailed insights.
6 Search your target company If there are no matches, you can still search for your target company by tapping the ‘Search’ button displayed on InsideView mashup, as illustrated in the screen below.

Tap Search to access the InsideView Global Search pane, then specify your contact or company search data.

  

Browse a Contact in Salesforce1

 
Step Description Details
 1 Browse a contact When browsing through a contact in your Salesforce1 App, InsideView mashup appears as illustrated below.

 

 2 View Detailed Insights Tap the InsideView area to view detailed insights. The detailed insights screen appears as illustrated below:

 3 Multiple contact matches When you browse through a contact, you may receive multiple matches, as illustrated in the screen below:

 4 Resolve multiple matches Tap View Profiles to resolve multiple matches. The following screen appears:

Select the appropriate profile and tap View. If there are no matches, you can still search for your target contact by tapping ‘Search’ button displayed on InsideView mashup. 

 

Accessing InsideView Mashup on Android/Other Operating Systems

Accessing InsideView mashup from your Salesforce1 App on Android and other operating systems is easy. The process explained above remains same for non-iOS platforms as well. However, the Salesforce1 App redirects to touch.insideview.com site when you tap Insights from your app.

Tap InsideView mashup from Salesforce1

In your Salesforce1 App, InsideView mashup appears as illustrated below.

 2  View Insights  Tap the above screen. The company details screen appears, as illustrated below:

 3  Browse a Contact  When browsing through a contact in your Salesforce1 App, InsideView mashup appears as illustrated below.

 4  View Insights Tap the InsideView area to view detailed insights. The detailed insights screen appears as illustrated below: 

 

Note: You must ensure the settings under Visualforce page properties are maintained as specified below so that your Salesforce1 app does not auto-direct you to Insights in the InsideView app. In order to ensure access to Insights happens only on tapping the InsideView mashup, these settings need to be maintained.

On the Visualforce Page Properties, specify these settings:

  • Width to 100 
  • Height to 400
  • Show scrollbars : Disabled
  • Show label : Disabled

 

Tap OK and then tap Save.
