2013/15/16 On-Prem : Installing InsideView for Microsoft Dynamics CRM

InsideView’s CRM Intelligence Platform delivers data, insights and connections directly into your Microsoft Dynamics CRM instance. Once enabled, you will have access to InsideView in your Account, Lead, Contact, and Opportunity page-views.

Note: If you are using CRM 2013 On-Premises or CRM 2011, you must install the appropriate package. Download the relevant package by clicking the link provided in the corresponding installation instructions. Please refer to Admin Notes before you begin INSTALLING InsideView. Deploying InsideView sales intelligence to your Account, Lead, Contact, and Opportunity page-views is quick and easy.

This article outlines the installation process for the following versions of Microsoft Dynamics on-premises: 

Existing InsideView Customers

If you have upgraded to CRM 2015/16, first uninstall the existing package and then install the new package to get the latest InsideView CRM Intelligence features. There will be no change to your existing InsideView license types.

On-Premises Installation Instructions for 2013/15/16

Before beginning, please ensure that pop-up blockers are turned off in your browser.

  1. Install the On-Premises solution into your CRM by downloading the zip file to your local computer.
  2. Log into your CRM as an Administrator (specifically with the “System Customizer” role)
  3. Navigate to Settings > Solutions (or Settings > Customizations > Solutions) as illustrated in the following screen:

  1. Click the ‘Import Solution’ icon or link and select the downloaded zip file from your local computer.

  1. Follow the instructions and system prompts to complete the install.

  1. Setup a proxy CRM user to provide your CRM users with seamless data sync/export. Refer to 2013/15 On-Prem : Setting Up Proxy User in Your MS Dynamics CRM on our Knowledge Base for instructions on this version of MSD CRM.
