Configuring InsideView Append in Salesforce Account Page Layout

This article explains how to configure and view InsideView Append data in your Salesforce Account page layout.

Configuring in Salesforce Lightning edition

Follow the instructions below to configure Account page layout in Salesforce Lightning edition:

Step Description Details
 1 Go to Setup After you login to Salesforce, click Setup Home, as shown in the screen below:

 

 2 Go to Object Manager Click Objects and Fields and then click Object Manager.

 3 Add a section   Under Account Layout, click Section and drag and drop it under Account Detail.

 

 4 Edit section properties On the Section Properties dialog box, do the following:

            - In the Section Name box, type InsideView Append.
            - Under Layout select 1-Column.section_properties.png

 

 5 Go to the Page Layout Click Accounts to go to the following screen. 

And click Page Layout, as illustrated in the below:

 

 6 Add InsideView Data Record field  Under Account Layout, select the InsideView Data Record field and drag and drop it in the InsideView Append section.

 7 Save Click Save to save the updated page layout.
 8 View InsideView Data Record
  • Once your InsideView Append account is activated, you can view matching InsideView Data Record for an account in your Salesforce account page as illustrated:

    Note: If no match is found for an account in InsideView Lightning Data, no link will be displayed.

  • To view account data that is appended from InsideView Lightning Data, click the Account Name link under the InsideView Data Record custom field.

 9 Update InsideView Data Record
  • If no match is found, try adding more account information such as Website URL, Country, Revenue and other relevant fields. 
  • After adding the fields, click the New Case menu and select the Check Integration Status item from the drop down menu.

  • Once you select the Check Integration Status, the Data Integration Status dialog opens where you will see either Not Compared, In Sync, Reviewed, Different, Not Found, or Skipped status. 

    For more information about these statuses, read the Salesforce Online Help documentation.

  • Click Update to update the InsideView Data Record.

 

Configuring in Salesforce Classic edition

Follow the instructions below to configure Account page layout in Salesforce Classic edition:

 1 Go to Setup Click Setup as shown in the screen below:

 2 Go to Page Layout Go to Accounts > Page Layouts

 3 Go to Edit Account page layout In the Account Page Layout, click Edit.

 4 Add a section   Under Account Layout, click Section and drag and drop it under Account Detail.

 

 5 Edit section properties On the Section Properties dialog box, do the following:

            - In the Section Name box, type InsideView Append.
            - Under Layout select 1-Column.section_properties.png

 

 6 Go to the Page Layout Go to Accounts and click Page Layouts, as illustrated in the screen below:

 7 Add InsideView Data Record field  Under Account Layout, select the InsideView Data Record field and drag and drop it in the InsideView Append section.

 8 Save Click Save to save the updated page layout. 
 9 View InsideView Data Record
  • Once your InsideView Append account is activated, you can view matching InsideView Data Record for an account in your Salesforce account page as illustrated:

    Note: If no match is found for an account in InsideView Lightning Data, no link will be displayed.

  • To view account data that is appended from InsideView Lightning Data, click the Account Name link under the InsideView Data Record custom field.
