Activating InsideView Append Lead Data Integration Rule


To run data assessments and start appending InsideView, lead data to your Salesforce CRM records, you need to activate the InsideView Lightning Data Lead Rule. This article explains how you can activate the data integration rule.

Note: You can set up a Lightning Data Lead Integration Rule and run a data assessment with a trial license of InsideView Append, but the InsideView data will not append to your Salesforce records. To start appending InsideView lead data, you will need to have your InsideView Customer Success Manager (CSM) or Account Manager (AM) change your license type from Trial to Active. Only then will you see the Activate button needed to complete this step.

To activate the InsideView Append Data Lead Integration Rule in Salesforce CRM, follow these instructions:

Step Description Details
1 Login to Salesforce Log in to Salesforce CRM with a user that has System Administrator privileges.
2 Go to Setup In the Lightning edition, click the Settings gear icon at the top of the screen and select the Setup option.


In the Classic edition, click the Setup option at the top of the screen.

3 Search for Data Integration Rules On the Setup page, type Data Integration in the Search bar and click the Search icon. Select the Data Integration Rules option from the search results to view all data integration rules available for your Salesforce instance.


4 Select the rule Select the InsideView Lightning Data Lead Integration rule as illustrated:

Note: By default, InsideView automatically appends all the available company data fields to a Custom Object linked to your Lead record. If you also wish to have InsideView data flow directly into the Lead Object, you can map one or more InsideView fields to any standard or custom field on your Lead Object by following step 5.

5 Edit the field mappings To map InsideView fields to any standard or custom field follow these steps:

In the InsideView Lightning Data Integration page, click Edit Field Mapping as illustrated:


In the Data Integration Rule Field Mapping page, go to the Update tab and then click Add Field.


Select an InsideView Data field from the DATA SERVICE FIELDS drop-down. Select the corresponding Salesforce Lead field that you wish to map to under the LEAD FIELDS.


Note: InsideView data will only be added if the field is blank. Salesforce plans to support an overwrite option for fields with existing values sometime in 2019.

Click Save to save the field mappings. Repeat the step above if you would like to add other Lead Object fields.

6 Edit data rule settings Return to the InsideView Lightning Data Integrations Detail page and click Edit Rule Settings.


7 Configure the rule settings In the Rule Details page, it is mandatory to select the Update all records (recommended) check-box.


(Optional) Review the options to bypass triggers, bypass workflows, and leave last-modified information unchanged when records are updated.

Click Save.

8 Activate the rule Return to the InsideView Lightning Data Integrations details page and click Activate as illustrated:


You will see a confirmation prompt when you click Activate, click OK to proceed.


After activating the data integration rule, Salesforce will attempt to match all your existing CRM records. InsideView data will start flowing into the Custom Object (as well as any Lead record fields that you had mapped in Step 5) for those matches. Depending on the number of records in your CRM, this process may take anywhere between a few minutes to several hours.

Note: The InsideView Lightning Data Integration rule runs every 14 days and will automatically match & append all CRM records. Salesforce end users can manually trigger a match & append for leads at any time.
