Add a Company or Contact to CRM from the Preview Pane

The Preview Pane allows you to add a company or contact to your Dynamics 365 CRM environment.

Here’s how:

Step Description Details
1 Go to the Preview Pane Follow the steps in Using the Preview Pane to launch the Preview Pane in Discovery Center.
Add a Company to CRM To add a company, select the desired company and click the Add to CRM button  .

The company is added to Dynamics 365 environment and you will see the View Account button.

To view the company details, click View Account.

Note: You can also select multiple companies then click Add to CRM to add them in the CRM.

3 Add a Contact to CRM  To add a contact to CRM, go the People tab on the Preview Pane and select the desired contact. Click the mceclip0.png icon and choose to Add as Contact or Add as Lead.

The contact is added to Dynamics 365 environment and you will see the View Contact button.

To view the contact details, click View Contact.

Note:

  • You can also select multiple contacts then click Add to CRM to add them in the CRM.
  • In the search results, you will also see former executives that are indicated as (Former) in the Summary Panel. You cannot add these former executives as contacts or leads in the CRM. If you try to add a mix of former and current employments, only the current employment will be added to the CRM and you will see the following warning:
